No Exit Exit

Updated: Jul 22

Our activities of daily living

Should include a bit of variety

But centered be on the gift of giving

To “the lessers” of our society.

They are capable not culpable souls

Who see the intent behind our actions

Of helping them help themselves yet condole

Us more by making real an abstraction.

When love makes happiness of sadness,

Turns inside out firmly held beliefs

There seems  method to life’s seeming madness

That we’re not just a bunch of crooks and thieves.

But if we think we are just evolved apes,

No Exit is a place we’ll never escape.
